How to pull your credit report before you start churning
Before you apply for a single card, you need one thing: an accurate list of every card you already hold and the date you opened it. Those open dates drive your 5/24 count, your issuer cooldowns, and which cards you can actually get approved for. Your credit report is where that list lives.
Why the open dates matter so much
Almost every application rule in churning is a date problem. Chase 5/24 counts the personal cards you opened in the last 24 months. Amex, Citi, and the other issuers each have their own clocks. Get one open date wrong and you can waste a hard inquiry on a card you were never going to be approved for. Pulling your report gives you the ground truth instead of a guess from memory.
Where to get your report
You have two good options, and they serve different purposes:
- • AnnualCreditReport.com is the free, government-mandated source for your reports from all three bureaus. Always free, no strings. Great for a one-time pull.
- • Experian gives you an ongoing view of your Experian report and score, which is handy if you want to watch new accounts and inquiries land over time as you churn.

What to read on it
Scroll to the revolving accounts section. For each credit card, note the account name and the date opened. That is the only field that really matters for planning. Closed cards still count toward 5/24 until 24 months after they were opened, so do not skip them. You do not need your balances or your score to plan applications, just the open dates.
Import it into ChurnLogic
Rather than typing all of that in by hand, you can import the report PDF directly. ChurnLogic reads out your accounts, open dates, and current 5/24 standing automatically, then lets you match each detected account to a card in the catalog. The parsing happens entirely on your device: only the account list you choose to keep is saved, and your raw report, SSN, and address are never uploaded.
See the step-by-step on the adding your cards page.
